Insiders disclosed Amosun’s estranged friend, Dapo Abiodun appears to be mustering supports that outweigh the governor’s influence.
Societynow.ng sources revealed that powerful interests in the All Progressives Congress such as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Olusegun Osoba have thrown their weight behind Dapo Abiodun.
Abiodun, the front person of Heyden Petroleum wants to become the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun state against the wishes of Governor Amosun.
Amosun wants Adekunle Akinlade, a federal House of Representatives member from yewa to become Ogun APC gubernatorial candidate.
Insiders disclosed to societynow.ng Tinubu is backing APC National Chairman Adam’s Oshiomole not to allow Amosun to script a behind the scene success for Akinlade.
Oshiomole and Amosun are currently locked in an intense fight over moves by the national chairman to ‘’contain” the Governor’s plot to execute an ”off the book” runaway success for his preferred aspirant.

More revelation has it that the remnant of the political structure of Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, the Lagos Senator who abandoned his Ogun governorship ambition due to Amosun’s fierce opposition, is also backing Abiodun to win Ogun APC gubernatorial ticket.
Multiple sources confirm the Yayi supporters are rooting for Abiodun based on the machination of Tinubu.
“The fact that the National Working Committee of the APC has ordered direct primary for Ogun state primary election has boosted the chances of the Abiodun and his backers tremendously” a source disclosed to societynow.ng.
Amosun had initially insisted on an indirect primary with the delegates that would vote believed to be firmly beholden to him, but the game plan has been disrupted with the directive from the APC’s National Working Committee that a direct primary should be adopted.
Societynow.ng learned the Direct Primary is unfavorable to Governor Amosun who is not really popular within his party as a result of his “do it alone” approach to the running of the party and government.
“Amosun is facing a lot of heat and his chances of getting the Ogun state gubernatorial ticket for his preferred aspirant and his anointed candidates in other elective positions is really not good” an insider disclosed to societynow.ng.
The governor is said to be mulling how to overcome the tasking situation before him.
Multiple sources, however, confirmed to societynow.ng that Amosun has, however, vowed that whatever the odds he would make sure Abiodun does not become the official APC gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state for the 2019 election.
