Emerging details have it that despite the noise and vigorous campaign that announced Former Minister Musiliu Obanikoro’s ambition to become a Senator – the aspiration may have ended before it officially stated.
Sources disclosed occupier of the slot he is interested in, Senator Solomon Oamilekan Adeola has secured “approval” to recontest as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress.
Yayi, as the incumbent Senator representing Lagos West is popularly known was formerly neck deep in the campaign to become the next governor of Ogun state.
But the man who provided wings for his gubernatorial ambition, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has told him to return back to base and begin the campaign to maintain status quo.
Interestingly it was Asiwaju Tinubu that gave Obanikoro the go-ahead in moves to secure Lagos APC ticket as Lagos West Senatorial candidate.
The move was part of arrangements that brought Obanikoro to the All Progressives Congress from the People’s Democratic Party
