Tony Elumelu To Speak For Africa As He Tours Abu Dhabi, London & Rome

“To unlock Africa’s potential and create a future of inclusive growth, sustainable development, and mutual prosperity, we must forge partnerships and create platforms for all voices to be heard and to catalyse the change we want to see.” These are the thoughts of Tony Elumelu, the proponent of Africapitalism and Chairman of Africa’s Global Bank, United Bank for Africa, as he prepares for engaging tours to the Middle East and Europe. 

And Abu Dhabi – the United Arab Emirates, London – the United Kingdom, and Rome – Italy are the specific destinations where one of the African finest entrepreneurs would once again preach Africapitalism, Entrepreneurship, and Youth Empowerment.

highlighting his mission during the scheduled trips where he “will join other business leaders and philanthropists”, Mr. Elumelu said; “I will focus on three themes: The role of entrepreneurship and job creation in fostering global food security.

“The economic empowerment of Africa’s youth to address migration challenges and create meaningful employment.

“A call for private-public partnerships to democratise access to healthcare and foster innovation to improve the quality of life globally.”

According to a writeup he put together, titled ” Speaking for Africa: Abu Dhabi, London & Rome – Fostering Partnerships & Championing a New Africa” ahead of the important international engagements Mr Elumelu further stated: “Central to my activities will be the presentation of the Tony Elumelu Foundation Coalition for African Entrepreneurs – our ambition to build on TEF’s success and substantially scale, to boost job creation, and provide hundreds of thousands of employment opportunities for Africa’s youth, across our continent. “

Itinerary of the planned trips sighted by highstreet.ng indicated the respected African business leader will on Monday, May 13, 2024, in Abu Dhabi, UAE, participate in a high-level panel session at the Health Leaders Forum. Mr Elumelu is attending at the invitation of Badr Jafar, the chief executive officer of Crescent Enterprises.

He would from there move to London, United Kingdom on Wednesday, May 15 2024 where he will host the Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), Cindy McCain, as well as other policymakers and leaders, to a private reception. This arrangement is jointly put together by the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) and the United Bank for Africa (UBA).

The frontline businessman reputed for his huge investment in banking, insurance, hospitality, power, technology, and more will end his tours with a roundtable talk themed “Powering the Energy Transition for the Benefit of All”, at the B7 Summit in Rome, Italy.

The B7 is the official business engagement group for the G7, a political and economic forum of seven advanced economies including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Japan, and the United States.

Representing the voice of the African continent on the panel alongside Mr Elumelu are Claudio Descalzi, CEO of Eni; Giuseppina Di Foggia, CEO of Terna; Chrissy Taylor, CEO of Enterprise Mobility and Bernard Mensah, the President, of Bank of America, International.

The founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation who is doing so much to transform the continent of Africa through his philanthropic initiative and investment will, during the session, spotlight Africa’s role in the energy transition.
