Video: ASR Africa & Renewed Hope Initiative Provide Aid To Victims Of Adamawa Flood
In a powerful show of compassion and commitment to humanitarian support, the ASR Africa Initiative, in collaboration with the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), has provided aid to victims of the recent devastating floods that struck communities in Adamawa State.
The flooding, which affected several parts of Yola South Local Government Area, led to tragic loss of lives, destruction of homes, and the displacement of hundreds of families. In response, food items and relief materials were distributed to vulnerable groups as immediate support.

Speaking during the relief distribution, Dr. Ubon Udoh, Managing Director of ASR Africa, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to standing with communities in times of need:
“We are here as proud partners of the Renewed Hope Initiative because we share a common vision of uplifting people, restoring dignity, and offering relief when it’s needed most. I bring the condolences and solidarity of our Executive Chairman, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, and assure the people of Adamawa of our continued support. Through this partnership, ASR Africa will remain a steady force for good during disasters across Nigeria and Africa.”
In a show of high-level government commitment, Hajiya Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President of Nigeria expressed heartfelt sympathy to affected residents and announced significant support from the initiative:
“On behalf of the Renewed Hope Initiative, I am pleased to announce the approval of ₦500 million to support flood victims in Adamawa State. These funds will aid in rebuilding lives, homes, and communities. The food relief provided today is a generous donation from Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, Executive Chairman of BUA Group, through his foundation, ASR Africa.”
Several victims spoke emotionally about their experiences and the impact of the intervention. Mr. Zakina Zira Diri from Shagari said:
“As we ran for safety, my 14-year-old daughter was swept away by the floodwaters. This support reminds us we are not forgotten. We thank the Vice President’s wife, ASR Africa, and BUA Group for their kindness.”
Another beneficiary, Fatima Abdul Rasaq from Moddire, added:
“I want to sincerely thank the First Lady, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, and BUA Group for standing with us during this painful time.”
This initiative underscores the strength of public-private collaboration in times of crisis and highlights ASR Africa’s ongoing mission to provide impactful, sustainable interventions across the continent. With the Renewed Hope Initiative and other strategic partners, ASR Africa continues to offer a beacon of hope where it is most needed.
