Video: Tony Elumelu Tells Mission At UNGA 79

African philanthropist and business leader, Tony Elumelu has disclosed three significant things he will be doing at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) 2024.

UNGA 79, holding in New York, opens on10th September with a High-level week that runs from 20th of September to 28 of September and 30th September 2024.

The Chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA) and Heirs Holdings who spoke in a 1 minute 30 seconds chat with Oge Elumelu, his daughter – a graduate of London School of Economics, United Kingdom – disclosed his mission to be “convening global leaders” and engaging them on three things that are very dear to him.

Expressing his delight to be part of this year UNGA Elumelu said, “I’m happy to be convening global leaders and also be meeting with them as well to talk about three things that are very important to me. 1, transformative economic growth for Africa. So that we eradicate poverty and create prosperity for all.
2.Making sure that we create employment for our young ones. We need to stop wasting our talents on the continent. Thirdly, talk about equitable energy transition that is beneficial for Africa. So watch this space and follow our conversation at UNGA 2024.”

“And also, by the way, UBA American is celebrating its 40th Anniversary in America”, Mr Elumelu, who displayed excitement about the soon be developed, quickly added.
