What Comptroller Anani Promised As He Takes Over PTML Command

The new Customs Area Controller (CAC) in change of Port and Terminal Multi-services Limited (PTML) Command, Comptroller Joe Anani, has pledged to consolidate and improve on the achievements of his predecessor, particularly in the area of speedy cargo clearance.

At the official handover ceremony on Friday, 12 September 2025, Comptroller Anani described his predecessor, now Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) Tenny Daniyan, as a well-organised officer whose leadership delivered notable successes.

“My joy is further solidified by the advantage of taking over a well-organised command from my predecessor and superior officer whose tour of duty here has resulted in multiple successes”, Anani said.

While expressing gratitude to God and the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for the opportunity to serve, the new CAC stressed the need for collective responsibility. “Our journey to succeed must remain a collective task. I am not here to do it alone.”

Comptroller Anani also commended the Command’s record of achieving two-hour cargo clearance, highlighting the importance of stakeholders’ compliance in reducing risks and strengthening trust with trade partners.

In his farewell remarks, ACG Daniyan noted that collaboration with stakeholders and officers was key to overcoming challenges and sustaining the command’s progress.

“Under my leadership, we collected N370,650,709,378.33 using B’Odogwu since its inception in November 2024 to August 2025. I urge you all to keep the faith as we march forward, and I thank the CGC and the Customs Development/Implementation Committee for giving us such a legacy project”, Daniyan stated.

He also reaffirmed the command’s firm stance against smuggling, insisting that only legitimate trade activities were allowed to thrive under his watch.

ACG Daniyan assured of his readiness to support the new leadership, expressing full confidence that Comptroller Anani would achieve remarkable results at PTML.
