What They Are Saying About Stella Oduah’s Defection To APC
Stella Oduah, a former minister and senator representing the people of Anambra North, has dumped the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
Her defection came to be yesterday August 26, 2021.
It was shortly after meeting with the Chairman of the APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Mala Buni, in Abuja, highstreet.ng understands.
The senator who was regarded as highly influential in the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan was welcomed in her new party by Mr Andy Uba who is the APC gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming election in Anambra State, the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, Governors Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and Hope Uzodinma of Kebbi and Imo States respectively.

The fact that her defection is coming after a recent threat by a Federal High Court in Abuja to issue a warrant for her arrest after failing to appear in court for her corruption trial has given room for speculations she made the move for a soft landing of sort.
Mrs Oduah is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for allegedly laundering public funds to the tune of N5 billion.
The former minister of aviation has Chinese construction company, CCECC, as co-accused.
Speaking on the development, Mrs Oduah, however, cited “the progress of APC and residents of Anambra State” as reasons for her decision.
