“What We Will Do For The Victims” – Gov Sani Bello During Visit To Lambata Tanker Explosion Scene

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has commiserated with victims of the fire incident caused by a tanker explosion that resulted in the destruction of houses, shops, and vehicles in Lambata, Gurara Local Government Area on Monday. Goods worth hundreds of millions of naira were reportedly lost to the fire.

The governor, who visited the market to inspect the extent of damage by the inferno and commiserate with the victims, described the incident as unfortunate and pathetic and expressed his heartfelt sympathy to the victims while assuring them that the state government would assist the victims affected to get back to their businesses.

He commended the people for the fighting spirit they exhibited in extinguishing the fire without anyone losing their life in the process while he reprimanded tanker drivers and those conveying inflammable products along major roads for being careless.

Governor Sani Bello disclosed that the state government was going to take a comprehensive assessment of the situation to enable it to come up with measures to ameliorate the plight of those directly affected.

Prior to the governor’s visit, the Niger State Emergency Management Agency, NSEMA team led by the Director-General of the agency, Alhaji Ahmed Inga Ibrahim was at the scene of the fire incident to address the situation.
