Why Baba Ijesha Actor Who Bagged 16 Years For Assaulting Minor Will Be In Prison For Only 5 Years
Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has been convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old minor.
He was pronouced guilty of the sexual crime by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja Lagos on Thursday July 14, 2022.
The movie practitioner’s travail began last year.
He was arrested on April 22, 2021 and later arraigned in June (2021) for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old foster daughter of comedian Damilola Adekoya, widely referred to as Princess.
While delivering her ruling, Justice Taiwo sentenced him to 16 years in prison.
She pronounced him guilty of four out of six offences; two charges attract five years while the remaining two attract three years.
In a judgment that lasted two hour, Justice Taiwo stated Baba Ijesa would spend his prison sentences concurrently.
