Why Billionaire Deji Adeleke Is A Major Threat To Reps Member Oluwole Oke’s Guber Ambition

Billionaire businessman Deji Adeleke and his brother, Senator Ademola Adeleke have been revealed as the major threats to popular House of Representatives member, Oluwole Oke’s ambition of becoming the governor of Osun State.

Oke, a major financier of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, is the lawmaker representing the people of Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.

The four years tenure of the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola ends in 2022.

Earlier report by highstreet.ng indicated Oke joined the governorship race to unseat Alhaji Adegboye Oyetola who is expected to clinch his party All Progressives Congress’s ticket.

But those who are familiar with the turns of events in the main opposition party insisted the lawmaker has a formidable obstacle in the Adeleke brothers.

Sources maintained the brothers are determined to use all within their power to stop the big spender.

According to information, the suspension of Honourable Soji Adagunodo as the chairman of the state chapter of the PDP was part of the grand plot to frustrate the lawmaker’s dream.

Oluwole Oke was instrumental to Mr. Adagunodo’s emergence as chairman of the PDP in Osun state, highstreet.ng understands.

Also, he played a lead role in the arrangement that swung PDP gubernatorial ticket the way of Ademola Adeleke in the last election.

“You are aware the senator (Ademola Adeleke) is still interested in the race, and they are aware, before now, of Oke’s ambition. That was why they moved against Soji Adagunodo and got him suspended… Because Oke was instrumental to his emergence as state chairman… With him Adagunodo as the party boss in the state it won’t be easy to stop him…”, a source told highstreet.ng.

Hence the initial move to get him (Adagunodo) out of the way, the source explained.

So, the fact that Adagunodo was recently cleared of any wrongdoing by the party hierarchy at the national level has not changed anything, our source insisted.

The battle is still alive, another source added.

“You know they (the Adelekes) have hold on the faction of the party that handed Adagunodo the suspension in the first… And without them I don’t see him (Oke) picking the party ticket”, an insider stated.

And as thing stands I don’t see them doing anything contrary to Deji Adeleke’s biddings, the source concluded.
