Why EFCC Declared Emefiele’s Wife Wanted

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has declared Margaret Emefiele, wife of the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele wanted.

According to information provided by the anti-corruption on its social media handles, Mrs Emefiele, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Dummies Oil and Gas, is on wanted list over allegations of money laundering.

Wanted alongside the wife of the embattled Ex-CBN boss are Eric Ocheme Odoh, Anita Joy Omoile and Jonathan Omoile.

The EFCC expressly disclosed they are wanted “for allegedly conspiring with a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, to convert huge sums of money belonging to the Federal Government of Nigeria and committed felony to wit: Obtaining Money by False Pretences and Stealing contrary to and punishable under Sections 411, 287 and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State”.
