Why Ex-Deputy Speaker Yusuf Lasun Refused To Reveal Next Step After Quitting APC

The next political move of Mr. Yusuf Sulaimon Lasun, a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, who just announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) has remained unknown.

The former number two lawmaker at the lower chamber of legislative arm outrightly refused to let out when asked “what his next step is”, hghstreet.ng understands.

He is actually keeping that to his heart for strategic reasons, a source who familiar with the owner of multi-million naira hospitality centre – Laim Hotel Osogbo – maintained.

Lasun, Who lost, alongside the Moshood Adeoti – the aspirant backed by Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola backed -, the APC governorship ticket to incumbent governor Adegboyega Oyetola both in 2018 and at the recently held gubernatorial primary officially disengaged from the ruling party on Friday, March 25, 2022.

His resignation came a few hours to the national convention of the ruling party.

Most of the leaders of the party in the state -including party chairman, Gboyega Famodun, Chief Bisi Akande and Governor Oyetola – were said to be out of town at the time he made known his decision.

The former lawmaker who represented the people of Irepodun/Olorunda/Osogbo/Orolu Federal Constituency at the green chamber of the national assembly for eight years ( 2011 – 2019) reportedly submitted the letter announcing his resignation during a visit to the party’s state secretariat in Osogbo.
