Why FG Dropped Money Laundering Charges Against Binance Executive

The money laundering charges filed against Tigran Gambaryan, an executive of Binance Holdings Limited by the federal government has been withdrawn.

The withdrawal of the charges was announced today, Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the Federal High Court in Abuja by a legal representative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

According to information, the lawyer premised the decision on the fact that Mr Gambaryan, a United States citizen, was merely an employee of Binance, whose activities he was being prosecuted for.

The anti-corruption agency, in April, arraigned Binance, a cryptocurrency firm, and Gambaryan, on allegations of money laundering.
