Why Gov Obiano Gifted Traditional Rulers In Anambra State 100 Brand New SUVs

Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has distributed over 100 SUV vehicles to traditional rulers in the state

While giving out the vehicles to the monarchs at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, on Friday, Obiano said they should use it to carter for themselves

The vehicles with the inscriptions (Ikenga), were manufactured by , Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing [IVM].

The Nation gathered that the governor did it to challenge the oil magnate, Prince Arthur Eze, who recently gave out SUVs to the 13 suspended monarchs by Obiano

The monarchs were suspended by Obiano for one year, following their visit to Abuja without permission from the state government.

Both Anambra heavyweights had been in serious battle of supremacy since then with Eze accusing Obiano of stifling governance in the state buy the government denied the allegation

Handing over the vehicles, the governor said that the jeeps were meant to assist the monarchs in the discharge of their duties.

He said that he had a lot of respect for the traditional rulers and therefore would continue to care about their welfare.

The Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council and the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, commended Obiano for the gesture.
