Why It Is Wrong To Say CP Olokode Is No More In Charge Of Osun Police Command
Those who are familiar with happenings in Osun State have insisted Mr. Wale Olokode is still in charge of the State Police Command,
Their stand is against an unsubstantiated report that Mr. Olokode has been relieved of his position by the hierarchy of the police authority.
“He has not been removed… He will only be out of the state until after the conduct of the gubernatorial election. While another senior officer temporarily takes his position”, a source who is familiar with the way things are being done in the Nigeria Police clarifies.
The governorship election in Osun State holds on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
Interestingly, it is largely a contest between incumbent Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke.
Our source who volunteered to set the record straight further maintained, “It usually happens during gubernatorial elections across states in the country, we have witnessed similar scenarios in other states”
“It’s just a regular police strategy, and the signal that announced the development is specific… Mr. Olokode will return after the election”, another source added.
