“It is a perfect fit” is the chorus trailing the appointment of the new Lagos state commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Salako Idris.

And a peep into the background of Idris who holds a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning reveals why.

Idris is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners and a member of the Association of Town Planning Consultants of Nigeria (ATOPCON).

A through Lagos born and bred, Idris earned a Bachelor of Technology in Urban and Regional Planning, the Federal University of Technology Akure and he obtained M.Sc. and Ph.D. in the same field [Urban, Regional Planning] at the University of Lagos State.

Idris who is the Managing Partner at Adesanya Salako & Associates commenced his career in urban and rural planning as an Estate officer at Jide Taiwo & Co. between 1997-1998. He joined Hussplan Consult – Planning Practice as a Town Planner in 1998. He was an Environmental Officer at b-Environmental between 2001-2010.

A ‘’better life for the people’’ oriented individual, Idris, 51 (Born 11 October 1968) joined the public sector between 2001-2003 as a Town Planning Officer at Oshodi-Isolo Local Planning Authority.
He established Adesalako & Associates in 2004, where he has managed, conceptualised as well as executed several projects in Nigeria.
