Why Segun Awolowo Is Extremely Happy

Those who have seen Segun Awolowo lately said he is extremely happy.

Segun Awolowo, the grandson of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, is the executive director of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council.

The 58-year old (born 27 September 1963) respected personality assumed the position in 2013.

Interestingly, his ascension to the position was during the tenure of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Said to be giving Mr Awolowo, a blood relation of Dolapo Osinbajo, the wife of Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, a great joy is his job as elected President of Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Trade Promotion Organizations (ECOWAS TPO).

The graduate of law from Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye -now Olabisi Onabanjo University – was unanimously elected to lead the new organization in the month of July, 2021.

With Vice President Osinbajo, his wife Dolapo among other who is who in attendance, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Trade Promotion Organizations (ECOWAS TPO) had its inaugural gala night in Abuja, on Friday, July 16, 2021.

Mr. Guy M’Bengue the CEO of Cote d’Ivoire Export Promotion Organisation emerged as his Vice-President.

According to information available to highstreet.ng, the TPO Network will operate as “a public-sector led entity and will work in partnership with the ECOWAS commission to drive inclusive trade development initiatives within West Africa and beyond”.
