Why This Year MTN Foundation Sponsored “Business Of The Arts” Will Be Better Than Previous Edition

As the popular saying goes “when you do something once, it can only get better”. Trust me, we have no idea who said what or when it was said. However, what we do know is that musicians have every reason to celebrate with the upcoming ‘Business of the Arts’ event.

For all the aspiring musicians who are newcomers, the event – Business of the Arts – is an initiative launched by the MTN Foundation in partnership with the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON), to educate music scholars about the intricacies of the music industry, the art, the culture, the people and most importantly, the business!

During the previous edition, the MTN Foundation invited experts such as Tee-Y Mix, Oye Akideinde, the CEO of Music Time and Tade Adekunle, a seasoned project consultant and CEO of Keskese to share their experiences as businessmen in the music industry. Now, the pandemic has changed the game for the better.

Unlike the previous edition where attendees were MUSON scholars and alumni, this edition is open to all and it’s free. You love music, you sing music, you write music, you market music, you produce, whatever relationship you have with music, the event is targeted at you, for you and it is left for you to grab the opportunity and loud it!

To put the icing on this cake, the event will see music business experts from across the world including Larry Annetts, who is the Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Irancell; Temi Adeniji, Vice President, International Strategy & Operations at Warner Music Group; Oyinkansola Fawehinmi, President, Digital Music Commerce and Exchange Limited; Bada Akintunde-Johnson, Country Manager, Viacom CBS Network Africa; Ayeni Adekunle, Founder, Black House Media Group; Oye Akideinde, President, Simfy Africa and some more. You will not know what hit you until you have gathered all the knowledge from these guys and begun using them to grow your career.

Oops! Did I forget to mention – the event is happening on Friday, August 28, 2020 and it would be hosted virtually! Basically, you can attend from anywhere in the world. With MTN, there is no restriction to gaining knowledge. Make sure to follow the hashtag – #xxxxxxxxx to get the link to the event!

Make your music count!
