The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi has reacted to his suspension by the Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers.

Oluwo has been in the news for allegedly assaulting another traditional ruler, Agbowu of Ogbaagba, Oba Dhikirulai Akinropo during a peace meeting at the office of Assistant Inspector General of Police in-charge of Zone 11, Mr Bashir Makama in Osogbo, Osun state capital.

His reaction, a one-minute video clip, was released yesterday Friday, February 21, 2020.

Checks revealed Oba Akanbi personally uploaded the video on his WhatsApp status.

This development came to be a few hours after he was handed a six months suspension by the Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers.
Oluwo in the video described his ban by the council – with Ooni Ogunwusi as head – as a move with no effect.

“Good evening, you can see that I’m still in the palace. This is the palace of Oluwo of Iwo land. There was no suspension, there is no suspension. The suspension of those council of Obas is audio…. Na just audio”

“There’s no suspension. Mapariwo ooo. The AIG cleared it. Oluwo didn’t punch anybody. So, don’t listen to some people saying that they can suspend me… I don’t have to go to their meetings. I don’t care about their meetings. I remain the Alase Lori Orisa… Arole Eledumare”, Oba Abdulrusheed Akanbi asserted.
