Sanwo-Olu Wants Pension For Ex-Governors Abolished In Lagos State

The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is considering a bill to abolish pension payments to former governors and their deputies.

A tweet by Jubril Gawat, the senior special assistant to the governor on new media, indicated Mr Sanwo-Olu is prepared for the immediate submission of the bill to the state house of assembly.

“Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu has announced his intention, through executive bill, to repeal the public office holder (Payment of Pension Law 2007), which provides for payment of pension & other entitlements to former governors and their deputies,” Gawat tweeted.
