Billionaire Taiwo Afolabi Gets New Appointment

Taiwo Olayinka Afolabi, the billionaire businessman behind big name in the maritime sector, SIFAX Group has got a fresh appointment.

SIFAX Group, the company he founded 33 years ago just appointed him as it’s new board chairman.

The appointment was announced today, May 9, 2022 and it takes effects immediately.

Mr Afolabi, until now, was the Group Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian conglomerate with interests in Maritime, Aviation, Haulage, Hospitality, Financial Services, and Oil and Gas.

And with the latest arrangement, he replaces the former chairman, the late Olowu of Owu, Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu, who passed on in December 2021.

Speaking on the development, Mr. Bode Ojeniyi, Group Executive Director, SIFAX Group said: “His choice was unanimous among the board members. Dr. Taiwo Afolabi has given all his resources – financial, goodwill, mental and social capital, among others – to see that the company continues to return impressive business growth and profitability year on year. The success story of the company cannot be divorced from his rigour, leadership, strategic thinking and foresight. Taking all these into account, the board found him worthy of this appointment for sustained entrepreneurial leadership and better service delivery to our clients as well as improved returns to all stakeholders.”
