Inside Abdul Samad Rabiu Fresh Hint On BUA Cement’s 20 Million Tons Annual Capacity Target

The chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has provided a fresh hint about an expansion plan that would increase BUA Cement’s production capacity to 20 million tons per annum.

He gave the hint after receiving Mr. Zhang Sicai, Chairman of CBMI Construction Ltd. (SINOMA China) – a major partner of the entity he founded in 1988 – and his team at the Dubai, UAE Office of the BUA Group.

BUA Cement’s involvement with CBMI earlier resulted in the delivery of a 14 million tons per annum capacity.

Mr Rabiu, who took to his social media after the all-important visit, disclosed that the engagement afforded both parties the opportunity to discuss “the potential addition of a new 3-million-ton cement production line in Sokoto”.

Interestingly, completing an additional 3 million tons will push BUA cement production capacity to 20 million tons per annum.

This, in turn, will ultimately increase BUA Cement’s market share, further strengthening its position as a major competitor in Nigeria and making cement more accessible, highstreet.ng understands.

And the billionaire businessman went on to describe the soon-to-be development as “another milestone in our shared journey of success” in a post that read….

Excited to welcome my friend Mr. Zhang Sicai, Chairman of CBMI Construction Ltd. (SINOMA China), and his team from China to our Dubai office.

As we discuss the potential addition of a new 3-million-ton cement production line in Sokoto, we reflect on over 15 years of close partnership with CBMI. They have been a trusted collaborator, delivering 14 million tons of cement production lines and helping us grow together. This next expansion would bring our total annual cement production capacity to 20 million tons — another milestone in our shared journey of success.
