Renowned businessman and chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has, in a moving tribute, reacted to the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The former Nigerian leader breathed his last yesterday, July 13, 2025 following a brief illness at a health facility in London, United Kingdom.
He was aged 82.
The respected African business leader who described the late leader as “a man of deep convictions and quiet strength” maintains President Buhari’s passing was a great loss to the entire nation.
“With great sadness and a profound sense of national loss, I join millions of Nigerians in mourning the passing of His Excellency, former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, a leader who embodied duty, discipline, and devotion to our nation”, BUA Group founder began the piece he personally authored in honour of the man he professed so much respect for.
The glowing tribute made available a few hours after the sad news was broken and titled:
“TRIBUTE BY ABDUL SAMAD RABIU (CFR, CON), CHAIRMAN, BUA GROUP, ON THE PASSING OF FORMER PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI (GCFR)” reads…
With great sadness and a profound sense of national loss, I join millions of Nigerians in mourning the passing of His Excellency, former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, a leader who embodied duty, discipline, and devotion to our nation.
President Buhari was a man of deep convictions and quiet strength. Whether as a soldier, a statesman, or a citizen, he served Nigeria with an unwavering commitment to order, integrity, and the common good. In the years I was privileged to engage with him, I saw firsthand a leader who cared deeply about the stability of our nation, the fight against corruption, and the protection of Nigeria’s long-term interests. He stood for the rule of law and always put it first.
Beyond his years in office, former President Buhari will be remembered for his humility, his love of simplicity, and the high personal standards he brought to public service. His leadership gave voice to millions who believed in a more transparent, secure, and accountable Nigeria.
On behalf of myself, my family, and the entire BUA Group, I extend our heartfelt condolences to his dear wife, Her Excellency Aisha Buhari, his family, the people of Katsina State, President Bola Tinubu, and indeed, the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, reward his sacrifices, and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.
Ameen.
