APC’s Usman Ododo Wins Kogi Guber Election

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmed Usman Ododo has been declared winner of Saturday, November 11, 2023, governorship election in Kogi State.

Usman Ododo is backed by the incumbent governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

According to the State Retuning Officer, Prof. Johnson Urama, Mr Usman Ododo – who won in 13 of the 21 local government areas in the states – polled 446,237 votes to defeat his rivals in the gubernatorial contest.

The Social Democratic Party’s candidate, Murtala Ajaka, who cleared the remaining eight local government areas, came second with total of 259, 052 votes.

Dino Melaye, a former senator and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), emerged distant third with 46,362 votes.
