Details behind the arrest of popular socialite Ibrahim Egungbohun better known as “IBD Dende” has emerged.

Contrary to information of an arrest when he honoured Invitation from the Nigeria Customs Service, sources confirmed the chairman of mega money business concern IBD Impex Limited was reportedly napped at his sprawling home in Ilaro Ogun state.

Popular Socialite IBD Dende Clamped Into Detention

“They stormed his home and bundled him away last week. He has been in detention since then” an insider disclosed.

Societynow.ng’s digs confirmed the big spender was arrested by men of the customs service.
“They were many in numbers that came to take him away” a source stated.

Societynow.ng gathered that indeed the cause of his arrest has roots in “smuggling business”.
There are talks in some quarters that the there is a political coloration to the development.

The name of Governor Amosun is being thrown into the mix as having a hand in the arrest of the socialite intensely popular in his sphere of operation.

But societynow.ng sources insist “it has more to do with the business of illegal importation than politics. He may have offended some people in the political circle for whatever reasons but based on what I know his arrest is a direct result of his business dealings” an insider asserted.

A licensed clearing and forwarding agent, the good friend of Akeem Adigun, the chairman of Socopao Group – better known as Socopao – is decorated with whispers of being a major player in the clandestine importation of pricey vehicles for big name automobile dealers.

The toast of traditional and contemporary musicians, Dende is a well-known spender in the social circle.
