Details As Senator Ajibola Basiru Fortifies Osun Residence After Attack By Thugs

Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru has fortified his Osun State residence with increased security presence, information at the disposal of highstreet.ng just revealed.

Mr Basiru is the lawmaker representing Osun Central Senatorial District in the Senate.

His residence, one the places reportedly targeted for attacks by hoodlums who hijacked the peaceful #EndSARS protest, is situated inside the Government Reserve Area, Osogbo, the State capital.

Checks revealed the home the politician popularly called SRJ was visited by assorted weapon wielding hoodlums on Saturday, October 24, 2020.

Though information has it they unable to gain access into the the politician’s home, sources maintained the hoodlums were seen throwing stones among other dangerous things from different directions on the structure.

This came to be after they had visited his campaign office where nothing was reportedly found.

Hence the senator’s decision to increase security presence around his home, a source who is familiar with the development stated.

A close ally of former governor Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola – now minister of interior in the cabinet of president Muhammadu Buhari – Senator Basiru served in the state as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.

He was previously in charge of the Ministry of Regional Integration & Special Duties before Aregbesola moved him to the Ministry of Justice.

Checks revealed the GRA mansion was built in his days as commissioner in the state.
