Fayose’s Man Kolawole Humiliated As INEC Declares APC’s Oyebanji Winner Of Ekiti Guber Poll
Biodun Oyebanji, the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has emerged the winner of the Ekiti State gubernatorial election.
He was declared winner of the contest by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of Sunday, June 19, 2022.
The declaration was made by Prof Kayode Adebowale the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan who was the Returning Officer for the election.
“Oyebanji, having scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and returned elected as the governor-elect of Ekiti State”, Adebowale said.
The governorship election held across the 16 local government areas of the state yesterday June 18, 2022.
The APC candidate polled 187,057 votes to defeat former Governor Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 82,211 votes and 67,457 votes respectively.
Bisi Kolawole is the candidate backed by former Governor Ayo Fayose.
