Glo Gets Commendation From Nigerian Army School Of Signals

Telecommunications company, Globacom has received accolades from the Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Signals (NASS), Major General Kennedy Osemwegie, who recently paid a visit to the corporate headquarters of the network in Lagos.

The Army general gave kudos to Globacom for its strong commitment to the growth and development of Nigeria saying Glo has always been committed to  its Nigerian outlook and disposition from its first day of operation 22 years ago.

Accompanied by other officers from the school, Major General Osemwegie disclosed that they came in quest for support from Globacom, especially through its Corporate Social Responsibility arm, Glo Foundation.

“Globacom has been extending the frontiers of who a Nigerian should be through its Nigeria-centered focus”, he observed. According to him, cooperation was critical in civil-military relations. He therefore requested partnership with Glo Foundation in order for the Signals school to realize its mandate in its academic and professional trainings.

He explained that the Nigerian Army Signals School “is the hub of training for the Nigerian Army personnel in terms of ICT and communications and also some other paramilitary organizations,” saying collaboration with corporate bodies such as Globacom will aid the institution in the effective discharge of its mandate.

Globacom’s Director, Strategy and Board Affairs, Mrs Mojisola Ashieru Sweet, who received the entourage, disclosed that the company was proud to be an indigenous company bringing life-transforming changes to the people and added that the company was prepared to partner with the school on critical areas of need.

The indicated areas of collaboration included the adoption of the Learning Management System (LMS), a key component of the Glo Smart Learning Suite, which can be tailored to the specific needs of educational institutions. The service provides tools for creating and delivering digital content, live classes, online tests, and performance reporting, along with features like instant messaging and video conferencing to guarantee a richer learning experience.

“This comes with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for school administration and bundled data for uninterrupted access to the platform by students at any time”, the company noted.
