Gov Seyi Makinde Battles Damaging Allegation

The governor of Oyo State, Engineer Oluseyi Makinde is at the moment battling a damaging allegation, highstreet.ng understands.

According to information, the allegation doing a serious wreck to Mr Makinde’s image centres around the lease of Agbowo Shopping Complex.

Checks by highstreet.ng revealed Oyo State-led government put the property on lease for N4.9 billion.

And it’s a 50 years lease, available information has shown.

Agbowo Shopping Complex is located opposite the University of Ibadan in the capital city of Oyo State.

The mall reportedly seats on approximately 30 plots of land.

And the allegation against the governor Makinde is coming from a group of professionals within the Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor, highstreet learnt, is being accused of “selling Agbowo Shopping Complex to himself for peanuts under the guise of leasing it to Messrs Whitestone Global Limited for 50 years”.

The APC group insisted Whitestone Global Limited, the lessee, is owned by Governor Makinde, through his cronies.

Also, in a statement released by the APC Professionals on Friday, September 25, 2020, and signed by its convener, Alhaji Adekunle Lawal the group maintained leasing Agbowo Shopping Complex to a private company for 50 years amounts to selling the property in disguise.
