Abdulahi Alao is the son of late Ibadan, Oyo State billionaire, Are Abdulazeez Arisekola Alao.

He was reported to have travelled out of the country in September 2019 despite his ongoing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for subsidy fraud to the tune of N2bn back home.

Mr. Alao has been in and out of court since 2012 following his prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on charge bordering on conspiracy to obtain money by false pretenses.

He was docked alongside his company, Axenergy Limited on a seven-count charge bordering on conspiracy to obtain money by false pretences contrary to Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006.
