Gov Umahi Explains Why Ebonyi State Votes Are For Tinubu

The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi has said the votes of the people of his state are for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Asiwaju Tinubu defeated Governor Umahi among others candidates – including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan – to emerge the flagbearer of the ruling party.

The presidential primary election held on June 8, 2022 at the Eagles Square in Abuja.

Mr Umahi stated this on Monday, June 13, 2022 during the swearing in ceremony of five Commissioners and two Special Assistant, SA, into his cabinet including 6 Development Center Coordinators at the Exco chambers of the new Government House, Abakaliki.

He further hinted that the votes of the people of the state he oversees are not for Labour Party and its candidate, Mr Peter Obi.

The agenda is basically Ebonyi State agenda and nothing more, the executive governor maintained.

“We will not vote for Labour Party, we will only vote for APC. Our vote is for APC and not for Labour Party. Our agenda is Ebonyi agenda. We will vote for our Presidential candidate in the person of Tinubu. We must strive to liberate Ebonyi State and that is our agenda”, Gov Umahi stated.
