Gov Zulum Reveals Who Will Emerge APC Presidential Candidate

The Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Zulum has given a hint on who will eventually emerge the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 presidential election.

He gave the hint on Sunday, May 22, 2022, while welcoming the Senator Ali Ndume-led campaign team of Rotimi Amaechi in Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital.

Rotimi Amaechi, a two-term governor of Rivers State and former Minister of Transport, is one of the top contenders vying to replace President Buhari at the expiration of his tenure.

Amaechi Campaign team’s mission in the state was to interact and seek the support of delegates and members of the APC in the state.

According to Mr. Zulum, who maintained Borno delegates have no preferred aspirant at the moment, the emergence of APC presidential candidate depends solely on president Muhammadu Buhari’s choice.

“Borno State delegates will vote based on their conscience. But again, our leader, General Muhammadu Buhari, is very important in this political equation. We are still waiting for him to tell us what to do and we will follow. His advice is very important so we have to wait for his advice’, Governor Zulum declare.
