How Omisore Is Happily Reaping From Oyetola, Aregbesola’s Feud
Otunba Iyiola Ajani Omisore appears to be happily reaping from the raging feud between the governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, and former governor Rauf Aregbesola.
Omisore, a former senator who represented the people of Ife Ijesa senatorial district between 2003 and 2011 at the national assembly, previously served as deputy governor of Osun State.
Aregbesola, currently serving in the government of President Muhammadu Buhari as the minister in charge of the Ministry of Interior is reported to be having a running battle with Governor Oyetola.
Mr Oyetola and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s quarrel kick started almost immediately the former resumes office as governor of Osun State.
Earlier report by highstreet.ng indicated their fight has resulted in the incumbent governor undoing a number of policies of Aregbesola’s previous administration.
Gov Oyetola Reverses Aregbesola’s Education Policy, Asks Osun Schools To Revert To Old Names

Interestingly, Oyetola who succeeded Aregbesola served as Chief of Staff throughout the two-term of Aregbesola’s administration.
Information pieced together by highstreet.ng showed the incumbent Governor Oyetola has seen in senator Omisore a politician who can help whittle down Aregbesola’s political influence.
Omisore and Aregbola are both from Ife/Ijesha senatorial district.
Like Omisore was in charge during his time as deputy governor of Osun State and later, senator, former governor Aregbesola, before the latest development, had firmed grip on the political landscape of the district.
But Omisore is gradually becoming the go-to man again as far as his “Ife/Ijesa domain” is concerned… and it’s already having a positive effect on his ambition to return to the senate, a source pointed out.
Omisore In Early Plot For Senate Return In 2023
This is thanks to the backing of Governor Oyetola, our source quickly added.
Gov Oyetola is evidently indebted to former senator Omisore for the role he played in his emergence as governor.

Otunba Omisore, who was the candidate of the Social Democratic Party {SDP} during the 2018 gubernatorial election in Osun State, pulled the string that turned the tides in favour of incumbent governor Oyetola.
His support actually helped Oyetola and his party the All Progressives Congress (APC) in securing victory against Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of the PDP when INEC declared the Osun State Governorship election inconclusive and ordered a rerun.
Investigation conducted by highstreet.ng revealed former governor Aregbesola’s loyalists from the district, especially Ife Zone, have also started switching to Omisore’s camp.
Hence Omisore’s growing influence in the scheme of things in the state.
