Insiders Reveal Aiyedatiwa’s Main Backer As APC Guber Primary Holds
Those who are familiar with unfolding events as far as Ondo State is concerned have revealed the powerful man behind Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa ambition to rule Ondo State 2025.
He’s no other person than Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, informed individuals in corridor of power have confided in Highstreet.ng.
The primary election to determine who emerges the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) holds tomorrow, April 20, 2024.
Governor Aiyedatiwa has the likes of billionaire Jimoh Ibrahim, a serving senator, Olusola Oke among others as major contenders.
But information at the disposal of highstreet.ng suggested Mr Aiyedatiwa who became governor after the demise of his boss as the favoured candidate of the power that be in the ruling APC.
And said to be at the forefront of the move to ensure he emerges the candidate of the APC and eventually the governor of Ondo State is Femi Gbajabiamila.
“From my understanding of happenings with APC, Aiyedatiwa is the Candidate, as a matter of fact the candidate to beat. I know he has the backing of Femi Gbajabiamila (The Chief of Staff to Mr President). And that is an indication that he has the support of President Bola Tinubu”, an insider told our reporter.
Aiyedatiwa, now the incumbent Governor of Ondo State, was sworn in as the executive governor the state on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
The development came to be after the death of his Principal, Romiti Akeredolu.
Interestingly, Ondo State gubernatorial election is scheduled to hold on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
