There are strong indications the parallel factions in Lagos All Progressives Congress are about to officially become one.

And this is said to be majorly at the instance of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Though better placed in the in even situation decorating the party, sources disclosed that Asiwaju reached out to Fuad Oki to accommodate his factions for “all the problems to go away”.

“And from what I heard, they are virtually on the same page as at last week” a source stated.

Societynow.ng checks revealed that “a high-level negotiation” that would affirm Asiwaju Tinubu as solely in control of the party is on.

Sources claim that Tinubu is leveraging on the gains of being the “publicly recognised” point man of President Muhammadu Buhari re-election efforts to retain control of the Lagos APC.

However, this development is said to be making re-election seeking Governor Akinwunmi Ambode restless.

Sources claim the looming almost perfected “reconciliation” increases the odds against his re-election ambition.

“One of the major reasons the party broke up was anger against the Governor and his style of administration and all-out effort to prevent his return to office as APC candidate” a source disclosed.

Insiders claim that on both sides of the factions, a larger percentage of players are against the second term ambition of Ambode.

“Merging the sides automatically doubles the numbers of opposition against him and coming at a time he is still lobbying hard for Asiwaju’s endorsement it certainly puts Ambode in a state of serious restlessness” a source summed up the situation.
