Rotimi Amaechi may be serving in a government headed by a man who rode to power on the strength of his ability to convince the voting populace that he is man given to austere living; in actual fact, the Minister of Transportation is on record speaking loudly about his own ascetic lifestyle when he declared on national television that he did not like money; many tongues could not but wag about the luxury jacket he wore to the 2019 Ovation Carol that held.

With what he showed up in at the annual event hosted by Chief Dele Momodu, the former Governor of Rivers State might have as well called ‘Minister of Extravagance’ to his portfolio. To say that Amaechi stole the show with his designer jacket of Louis Vuitton brand is to state the obvious. Sold for about N1.5 million, the Monogram Denim Jacket is a classic casual piece. The Made-in-France luxury jacket is not what the customer picks from the stock but one that you have to put a call to Louis Vuitton Office in Paris to make it available.

Showy and resplendent in the exclusive wear, Amaechi attended the carol with an intent to make heads turn in awe. He got it and even more as guests murmured in hush tones about the ostentatious show Amaechi put up. The man who was recently assaulted far away in Spain seems to have put the dastardly act behind him, as he now goes gallivanting, attending one social function after the other in statement-making outlook.

Amaechi has been one of the shining lights of this administration, as he has been able to corner deal after deal for the government in its infrastructure development drive, especially railway transportation. The Chinese investors and construction companies have found him an ally with whom they can do business with and Amaechi seems to be playing ball well.
