The immediate past governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode is back in town.

Societynow.ng gathered that Ambode returned directly from Dubai after the Christmas celebration.

“He came in quietly about two days after Christmas” a source stated.

Ambode traveled abroad immediately after the last general election.

He failed to witness the swearing-in ceremony of his successor Babajide Sanwo-Olu after an infamous campaign to secure a second term in office.

The former governor reportedly traveled to London from where he made his way to Dubai, where he holed up in a political exile move of a sort.

He stayed put abroad in the face of multiple invitations by anti-corruption agency Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to come and provide answers to allegations of questionable spending when he was governor of Lagos state.

Ambode also refused to appear before the Lagos State House of Assembly over indictments for abuse of office, breach of protocol and financial impropriety.

The former governor instead instituted a court case against the Lagos State House of Assembly over the legality of the institution of a probe panel against him.
