Ondo Deputy Gov Ajayi Declares For ZLP
The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi has officially declared for the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
This makes it the second party the politician will be associating with after his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ajayi officially joined the political party with former governor Olusegun Mimiko as leader on Friday, August 14, 2020.
The declaration was at ZLP Secretariat in Akure, the state capital.
His movement to his new party reportedly had a huge number of his supporters and party faithfuls in attendance.
The development is coming days after he (Ajayi) dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following his inability to clinch the main opposition party’s governorship ticket.
Ajayi lost the PDP ticket to Eyitayo Jegede SAN, a former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in the state.
Agboola Ajayi’s ratification as the flag-bearer of the Zenith Labour Party is expected to take place soon.
Incumbent Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress.
