Revealed! The Powerful Woman In Oyetola’s Govt Rooting For Omisore’s Senate Return Bid
There is an influential woman in the corridor of power in Osun State who is insisting that Otunba Iyiola Omisore must be compensated with a deserving position, emerging information has indicated.
And checks have revealed the individual to be Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola, the wife of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
Mrs. Oyetola has been described, by those who are familiar with Osun State Government house, as very powerful in the administration of her 67 years old husband.
The reason for her stand is simple, Omisore played a vital role in the election that brought her husband to power in 2018.
Then, the candidate of the less popular Social Democratic Party (SDP), Omisore gave the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate (Oyetola) the winning number during the rerun election ordered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
And Mrs. Oyetola evidently appreciates it more than anybody, a source said.
According to report, a promise that he would be given a senatorial ticket among other things was part of the arrangement that got him to work for the ruling party.
But sadly, Ajibola Famurewa, then a loyalist of former governor Rauf Aregbesola who eventually lost to Adenigba Fadahunsi of the PDP at the general election, was handed the ticket.
Interestingly, Omisore, a former deputy governor of Osun State, and ex-senator, who previously represented Ife-Ijesa senatorial district between 2003 and 2011, is again plotting a return to the red chamber of the national assembly. And now with the backing of those that matter in the scheme of things.
Also Mrs. Oyetola, who is said to be very influential as far as who gets what in the government of her husband and the ruling party in the state is concerned, is reportedly rooting for him and constantly ringing in her hubby’s ears why Mr. Omisore must not suffer another abandonment.
“He stood with us when we needed him… He’s still supporting us… The 2023 senatorial ticket should be a payback thing for him. There shouldn’t be anything stopping him from being compensated this time around, Mrs. Oyetola was said to have pointed out to her husband.
