What Gov Obaseki’s Aide Said About Billionaire Hosa Okunbo And Edo State Treasury
Billionaire businessman, Captain Hosa Okunbo has just suffered a verbal attack.
And the attack is coming from Crusoe Osagie, the special Adviser to governor Godwin Obaseki on Media and Communication Strategy, a report by punch.ng has revealed.
Incumbent governor Obaseki is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
According to The Punch, Osagie maintained Billionaire Okunbo is backing Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with his eyes solely on the treasury of Edo State.
His assertion was in reaction to Captain Hosa Okunbo’s interview with the media where he (Okunbo) claimed Godwin Obaseki’s performance as governor was nothing to write home about, insisting most of his project are just on paper.
The wealthy businessman also said in the widely published interview that he would spent his last said kobo to ensure Pastor Ize-Iyamu trounce the incumbent at the poll.
But in response to Captain Okunbo’s interview via an official statement, Osagie said, “In the interview Okunbo granted journalists in Abuja, he said he does not invest in any venture without first assessing the profit motive. He also said that he will spend his last kobo backing Ize-Iyamu”,
“So, clearly, Okunbo is investing in Ize-Iyamu with the treasury of Edo State in mind. This is the reason they want Governor Obaseki out of the way, so that he can grab the treasury of Edo State to service his outlandish lifestyle. Edo State will have nothing left in the treasury to pay pensioners, teachers and other government workers.
“Edo people know that the return on Okunbo’s investment in Ize-Iyamu is the entire Edo State’s treasury. All the accusations of nonperformance he made against the governor in the interview are all lies, concocted to put the governor in bad light.”
Edo state gubernatorial election holds on Saturday, September 19, 2020.
And it a straight battle between the incumbent, Godwin Obaseki who is flying the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and Pastor Ize-Iyamu of APC.
