This Woman Is The Most Influential In Adeleke’s Govt
There is a powerful woman in the government of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, information at the disposal of highstreet.ng has just revealed.
And she’s no other person than Modupe Adeleke-Sanni.
Mrs, Modupe Adeleke-Sanni, who is the title holder of Yeyeluwa of Ede Land – the hometown of the Adeleke dynasty – is the elder sister of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
According to information, Adeleke-Sanni – born in 1959 and turned 64 on Friday, June 23, 2023 – currently determines who gets what in the administration of his blood brother.
Interestingly, those who are familiar with the Osun State Government House disclosed her to be what Kafayat Oyetola, wife of former governor Gboyega Oyetola, was to the immediate past administration.
Mrs. Oyetola wielded so much power during her husband’s reign, earlier report by highstreet.ng indicated.
Oyetola ruled Osun State for four years (2018 – 2022). His dream of governing the state for another term of four years was cut short at the poll on July 16, 2022 by incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke – the man he earlier defeated to clinch the governor position in 2018.
Information filtering in revealed all the appointments so far made by Governor Adeleke, including the positions of Secretary to the State government and Chief of Staff to the Governor, were subjected to her (Dupe Adeleke-Sanni) approval.
Her abode, multiple sources further claim, has literarily transformed a mecca of sorts for politicians seeking appointments and all kinds of favour in the state. Especially, now that Mr Adeleke’s government is in the process of picking commissioners as well as other appointees.
Those who are familiar with the situation maintain the kind of influence she wields has roots, among other things, in the kind of role she played during the struggle that transformed Mr Adeleke the governor of Osun State.
“Im not surprised all these are happening, the governor respects her a lot to the point that he can’t say no to her. She was the boss during the campaign… She was at the forefront of the struggle that led to emergence of his younger brother as a governor… Those of us who were with them during the campaign knew a thing like this will possibly happen…” an insider with deep knowledge of things explained.
