Former Governor Gbenga Daniel – now a senator representing the people of Ogun East Senatorial district in the National Assembly – is currently trending.
This development is courtesy of his alleged relationship with Bosun Tijani, one of the 48 individuals penciled down for ministerial positions in the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, highstreet.ng understands.
Bosun Tijani is one of the nominees from Ogun, the State former governor Daniel ruled for eight years – 2003 to 2011.
Sources close to the seat of power revealed Mr Bosun, a player in the information technology sector of the economy, made the on the account of the former governor’s machination.
Supporters of the ruling party are not finding this funny at all, highstreet.ng pieced together.
Bosun, who has at various times via his social media handles made disparaging comments about the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), former President Muhamadu Buhari, and current President Tinubu, was screened on the floor of the Senate Yesterday, August 5, 2023.
And the grilling by the distinguished senators forced him to recant his comments and apologized for all his past sins.
Also, there have been talks on and offline as to how the name of a critic of the ruling party and President Tinubu made it to the list.
Interestingly those behind the talks are die-hard supporters of the present administration and by extension the ruling APC.
According to information, they are relentlessly questioning the rationale behind Senator Daniel’s decision to back a nominee who does not believe and had in the past serially insulted the persons of President Tinubu and his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari.
