Why Tony Elumelu Is Very Happy With UBA Group’s Treasury Team

African business leader and chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA), Tony Elumelu is in joyous mood.

And the reason for this development is straightforward. The financial institution he chairs just clinched three awards at the 2023 edition if the much sought after FMDQ Group Good Awards.

The awards – Best Money Market Liquidity Provider, Best FX Liquidity Provider and FMDQ Dealing Institution of the Year – that are giving Mr Elumelu so much joy were actually won by the Treasury Team of the Africa’s global bank.

Celebrating his men on the development across his social media handle, Mr Elumelu wrote…

Congratulations to the Treasury team of UBA Group for emerging the winner of three (3) Gold awards at the 2023 edition of the Prestigious FMDQ Group Gold Awards this week:

▪ Best Money Market Liquidity Provider
▪ Best FX Liquidity Provider
▪ FMDQ Dealing Institution of the Year

This recognition is a testament to UBA’s impressive capital strength and capacity to provide liquidity to the Nigerian financial market even in the face of harsh economic realities, our market knowledge, our dedication to customer service and the trust of our clients.

We are Africa’s global bank, and this is further testament to the success of our mission – our growth this year has been phenomenal! Despite the headwinds, UBA has consistently maintained its position as Nigeria’s leading financial institution.

In June, we announced impressive half-year financial results. In Q3, our Profit Before Tax (PBT) soared to N502.01 billion, with Shareholders’ Funds standing strong at N1.778 trillion, and total assets, reaching N16.24 trillion.

These outstanding figures not only reflect our institutional strength, but also demonstrate our position as a corporate role model in Nigeria and across Africa.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed shareholders and customers for their unparalleled confidence in our business.

My sincere appreciation goes to our dedicated Board of Directors and the remarkable UBA Group team. Your commitment to our shared vision of becoming Africa’s Global bank is truly valued.

And finally, thank you FMDQ, for this recognition.
