“Your Struggles Will Not Be In Vain” – Tony Elumelu On Killings Of #EndSARS Protesters

The Chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA), Tony Elumelu has expressed sadness over loss of innocent lives during #EndSARS protests embarked on by young Nigerian against police harassment and brutality.

The respected businessman who prayed for healing for all those affected maintained the deaths recorded were needless.

Mr Elumelu revealed his thought on the ugly occurrence through a post titled “My heart is heavy” on his Facebook Page in the night of Wednesday, October 20, 2020.

The post reads…

I am deeply saddened by the turn of events in our country and the needless loss of lives as reported in Lagos and other parts of the country.

I pray for healing for all those affected and will renew the dialogue that I initiated with others for a peaceful, urgent, and transparent resolution. It is important that lethal force is not applied on unarmed protesters and that we all engage peacefully and constructively.

To the youth, your unity, purpose, and sacrifice is an inspiration.
Your struggles will not be in vain.
