Why They Are Saying CP Olokode Is Getting It Right Ahead Osun Guber As Command Raids Flashpoints

Olawale Olokode, the Commissioner of Police in Osun State, is working relentlessly to ensure the coming gubernatorial election in the state is conducted in a peaceful and violence-free atmosphere, information at the disposal of highstreet.ng has revealed.

And his Modus Operandi is clear, he wants to see that the state is safe and rid of criminal elements well ahead of election day.

The gubernatorial election in Osun State holds Saturday, July 16, 2022.

Incumbent Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are the major contenders in the soon-to-be contest.

And he is said to have, some days back, ordered the deployment of a special police team to that effect.

“The deployment of tactical teams to flashpoints across the state has begun yielding desired results”, a source who is familiar with the current situation in the state insisted.

Mr. Olokode’s effort at making Osun State a safe place ahead of the gubernatorial poll has resulted in the arrest of 18 suspected criminals – currently undergoing interrogation and facing possible prosecution – across the state, a communication made available by Yemisi Opalola, the command Public Relation Officer indicated.

Opalola’s communication equally detailed how a male member of the National Youth Service Corps serving with the National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Atakumosa West Local Government Area of the state was apprehended by men of the command for having in his possession multiple Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

The corps member, who reportedly perpetrated the act for financial gain, and two other staff of the electoral body were taken into custody on Thursday, June 30, 2022, highstreet.ng understands.
